I have been working in MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (Cambridge) in Dr M.J.Gait’s group on development of Cell-Penetrating Peptide conjugates of Phosphorodiamidate Morpholino oligonucleotides (PMO) and now I am helping to transfer the technology to Oxford. Using CEM Liberty Blue automated microwave peptide synthesizer, HPLC and MALDI-TOF mass-spectrometer for synthesis, purification and analysis of peptides, I provide the biologists in the group and outside collaborators with conjugates for in depth studies of their activity, toxicity, and biodistribution in several in vivomodels of neuromuscular diseases. Additionally, I design new peptides, attach fluorescent dyes or specific ligands to peptides or their PMO conjugates.
