Olivier Gerrit de Jong

Postdoctoral Researcher

University Medical Center Utrecht

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Nanomedicine research group at the Department of Clinical Chemistry and Haematology at the University Medical Center in Utrecht. My research focuses on mechanisms that regulate extracellular vesicle-mediated intercellular transfer of RNA, as well as potential therapeutic applications of extracellular vesicles for RNA delivery and gene therapy. To facilitate this line of research, I focus on designing novel state-of-the-art tools to measure intercellular functional transfer of RNA molecules at single cell accuracy and employ these systems to study therapeutic delivery of CRISPR/Cas9/12a complexes and (si)RNA molecules.

Expertise:
- Extracellular vesicles
- Intercellular RNA exchange
- Tumor-mediated angiogenesis
- Cloning: (fusion)protein design & expression
- CRISPR/Cas genomic engineering
- Lentiviral vector design, production & transduction
