Ruth Ellerington

Research Assistant

I am a Research Assistant in the Wood Lab, primarily hired to work on the Labs collaborative project with the pharmaceutical company WAVE Life Sciences (Cambridge, MA, USA) to develop antisense oligonucleotides with stereopure chemistry to target the human DMD gene for clinical testing for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. I also regularly assist the SBMA (Spinal Bulbar Muscular Atrophy) team in their studies looking to elucidate the muscle-based pathogenic mechanisms of the disease.
